About Karina Rafailov

Karina Rafailov is a skilled building designer at Shelter Building Design. Originally from Brazil, she has lived in Switzerland and Germany before making Australia her home in 2011.

With over 12 years of experience, Karina’s passion for sustainable design began in childhood and has since evolved into creating energy-efficient, environmentally conscious spaces. Her designs, inspired by modernist architecture, emphasise clean lines, geometry, and a deep connection to nature, often incorporating Biophilic Design principles.

In her free time, Karina enjoys rock climbing, canyoning, and hiking in the Blue Mountains, drawing inspiration from the natural world. At Shelter Building Design, she is dedicated to creating sustainable homes that promote both health and harmony with the environment.
